christmas + new years 🎄

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and a very Happy 2024 to everyone!

This year was honestly super cool. I did so many things I never thought I would end up doing and things I've always wanted to do.

I also reached the age of majority, but we don't talk about that...

Anyway, I decided to just put all my Christmas+New Year stuff in one small-ish update since I am in fact the laziest person ever. I say small-ish since it's not particularly small nor big.

I should've just said left it at this: it's an update! Oh well. Enjoy.

There's this thing in the Philippines called Noche Buena, but I guess it's more commonly known as Christmas Eve. It's basically dinner before Christmas and until Christmas.

My family usually does it like this: the entire 24th is consumed by cooking and preparation, By the end of the night, around 11PM, we have dinner and basically this entire program with a dress code and everything.

We had this one game where we had to guess how many M&Ms were in this jar. My mom declared that my brother won, but my other brothers argued the math. I sat there and ate my truffle pasta and steak. It was really good.

My son also participated. He's sophisticated so he wore a little silk scarf-collar. We all wore formal clothing in white by the way. Last year we wore red, I think.

very cute child

In the morning -- I say morning but we actually only woke up around 2PM -- we had brunch at our favorite Thai place. It was the perfect meal for Christmas. Thai food is delicious as always.

YUMMY

Then we went out to shop for more things we wanted for Christmas. I got myself the cutest pink HydroFlask ever, my sister got me the cutest pink Stanley ever, etc etc.

cutest bone bag ever (i need it)

We finished the day looking at the majestic Christmas tree from afar.

We visited our grandparents at the cemetary and said our greetings. We told them about our year and prayed for them too.

Then we ate KBBQ and it was awesome. I also had a bunch of gyeran-jjim (steamed eggs) with kimchi.

After eating we continued our little shopping spree. I saw this very great advertisement in a store.

real..?

I also decided to go get Cinderella tickets but the Ticketworld kiosk was absolutely deserted. I was super bummed since I went there with high hopes.

We all had some rest at a coffee shop overlooking the decorations afterwards.

flying gifts...

I did end up getting my Cinderella tickets :3

Unfortunately, the traffic was incredibly bad + going out everyday was taking a toll on basically everyone. We got tickets for four of us (my two brothers, my sister and I) but my other brother got sick and unfortunately his ticket couldn't be used.

We also arrived pretty late (almost right before intermission) since IT WAS SO TRAFFIC. We literally left the house 2 hours before. I have no idea why it took so long to get there.

The show was amazing! But I'll say more in my review.

awesome cast

My sister and I went with my dad to have brunch with his friends at this hotel. It was cool.

We left them alone to talk and we basically just stayed in the lobby cafe for a while. And then -- like 30 minutes in, a bunch of people in the lobby stood up for some reason. It was because MANNY freaking PACQUIAO was there??? With his train of bodyguards too. They all went somewhere and my sister and I looked at each other like this (⊙_☉)

Anyway, I drank buko juice too!

it surprisingly took me a veeery long time to finish this
DEC 31-JAN 1
We had a New Years version of the Noche Buena thing. I know there's a word for it but I can't seem to remember...

Anyway, we basically did the same things and we ate really good food. We counted down until the New Year and jumped for height when the clock struck 12.

Happy 2024 everyone! I do wanna talk more, but my eyes really hurt...

I hope this year is a good one.

~ greetings from me and my son <3
